Polaris: A Typographic Popup is a collection of typographic designs by CJ Dunn for MORI, a design boutique in Honolulu.

The collection of graphics was printed live in MORI’s retail store for the opening. Screen printing was done by Travis Sasaki and customers were able to choose which graphic would be printed on which object so each item was made just for them.

Pangram Poster @ Cooper Hewitt Shop

I created a series of posters called “Pangram Pattern Poster Project” which are available at the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum Shop in conjunction with the museum’s “How Posters Work” exhibition. They are also available to purchase online via shop.cooperhewitt.org.

From their site:
The “Pangram Pattern Poster Project” by CJ Dunn illustrates a sampling of “pangrams” used for proofing typefaces throughout the design process. These hilarious phrases, although seemingly obscure and abstract, are a common sight for designers. Typographer, CJ Dunn has created a DaDa-esque poetry and visual pattern from some of his favorite pangrams, set in a chronological sampling of iconic sans serif typefaces.

This is The Town: A Tribute to Nilsson custom lettering

Harry Nilsson is one of my favorite song writers of all time, so I was honored to create custom lettering for “This is The Town: A Tribute to Nilsson”. I was lucky enough to work with the very talented Annie Nilsson on this project, who’s beautiful illustrations of her father grace the covers of the album.

Produced by Kenny Siegal, the album is being released on February 4th 2014 by Brooklyn-based record label The Royal Potato Family including limited edition yellow vinyl! Available for purchase here.

Kiel Mead × CJ Dunn: diamond etched monograms

Brooklyn based jewelry and product designer Kiel Mead commissioned me to design a bespoke typeface for a series of diamond-etched monogram rings and coasters. The rings feature solid letters, while the large brass coasters feature decorative versions of the letters.

Illustration and Design for Judgement Day’s new 7″ Record “Out of the Abyss: Live on Tape”

I really enjoy doing this style of illustration so I was happy it worked out for this project. The recordings for this release are amazing. The guys did it all live, in one take, pure shredding with amazing solos. Did I mention it’s all one take? Like on some Miles Davis tip, when you get that good all you need is one take.

New Judgement Day shirt photos.

I designed these shirts this summer when they were on tour with Mates of State, and they finally got printed in time for their current tour. First leg was with Margot and the nuclear so and sos, and now they’re finishing up the tour with the bay area band Dredg. Thanks Mike for the photos!

Kidrobot Tshirt Graphics

The t-shirts I designed for kidrobot last year are finally coming out. Should be in stores soon, and limited as always so get one before they’re gone.
*UPDATE they’re for sale on the kidrobot webstore now! Black version and white version.

You’ll see my hand drawn lettering appearing on a few different pieces in the holiday line. I’ll post more pictures as I get them.
