Art direction, titles and motion graphics for a two-part web series entitled Junkan, a short version of Tokyo to Osaka made especially for GOOD Magazine.

From GOOD Magazine:

In the summer of 2009, 13 cyclists from Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco took their fixies to the Land of the Rising Sun for an ambitious undertaking: A 350-mile tour from Tokyo to Osaka. Their goal (along with survival) was to experience a more intimate kind of travel and make a documentary of their adventure.

Their forthcoming film, Tokyo to Osaka, will chronicle their seven-day journey, including the mechanical problems and injuries that tripped them up and the unexpected roadside barbeques and new friendships that made a cycling trip such a rewarding way to travel.

Peacocks / Pink Monsters Book

The advance copies of Peacocks / Pink Monsters have arrived from the printers and I’m very happy with how they turned out.

This will be available as the “Collector’s Edition Book/ CD” for the upcoming Judgement Day album, available April 13.

Hand Drawn Film Titles

Film titles and credits done the old fashioned way, lettered by hand, for a project called Junkan.

Drawn from the Tokyo to Osaka film (due out mid 2010), Junkan is a short series of episodes for GOOD Magazine, which will debut in early 2010.

Italic Lettering

Custom italic lettering and victorian silhouette style illustration, commissioned for a wedding gift. The lettering was done entirely by hand, with a broad-edge pen dipped into Higgins ink.
