The Society of Scribes is the premiere calligraphy and lettering organization in New York City, founded in 1974 as a non-profit educational organization which “promotes the study, teaching and practice of calligraphy and related disciplines”. With the new website, our goal was to build a more inclusive, interactive environment for the membership while creating an online destination for the calligraphy community at large. This involved integrating dynamic elements to the site such as live flickr/twitter feeds and a blog, as well creating a space for academic resources and publications on calligraphy where out of print material will be digitized by the organization and shared with those interested in learning about calligraphy.

The Architect’s Newspaper
Blog Design

Born out of a need to post live updates from the Venice Biennale, we created a blog for the Architect’s Newspaper. The challenge was to match the look and feel of their existing website and printed publication while creating a new voice for the blog. The solution required pairing down to the essetial elements and a strong use of their signature color with a clearly defined heirarchy for maximum impact.

NR Catering
Web Design/ Art Direction
NR Catering is a family owned and operated catering company. Executive Chef Nicole Roarke is an honors graduate of the prestigious French Culinary Institute, where the famous Master Chef Jacque Pepin resides as Dean. The site is designed to showcase the beautiful and appetizing food photography, uses a clean and simple navigation, and incorporates dynamic content to keep the site fresh for repeat visitors.

NOHRYO GALLERY aims to introduce and reconnect everyday people to an art world that has become increasingly inaccessible, featuring works primarily by Korean artists.

The creative adheres to a clean, functional aesthetic with a minimal and straightforward interface that lets the artwork speak for itself.

The jULIAN BARNETT project is a New York based contemporary dance company. The creative needed to articulate the sophisticated yet minimal movement to match that of the dancers.

Clean typography and tonal color with limited accents communicates the necessary emotion with an identity that works effectively for web and print collateral.
